“With this album, we really wanted to show everyone that we’re going for it; we’re giving it a go,” says Amyl and the Sniffers’ frontwoman Amy Taylor ahead of the release of their highly anticipated third album Cartoon Darkness. “We love making music and we’re ambitious. We don’t put limits on ourselves… We’re proud of that. That’s what I want to show off.” We sit down with the ARIA Award-winning punk-rockers and go deep on their new sound, their big dreams and the serious business of having fun.
Also in this edition:
- In Letter to My Younger Self, country singer-songwriter Kasey Chambers looks back on oversharing, aging gracefully, and the song that still gets her choked up on stage.
- We couldn’t be prouder of our Street Socceroos, who’ve returned from the 2024 Homeless World Cup in Seoul with stories of success on and off the pitch (plus some silverware!)
- Stop-motion animator Adam Elliot hopes that his sad-funny new movie Memoir of a Snail will make audiences cry.
- In Tastes Like Home, foodie and comedian Jennifer Wong shares a recipe for everyone’s favourite way to eat lettuce: Sang Choy Bao.
- And in Ozzities, we farewell an Aussie small screen legend: Neighbours’ larrikin-come-good Toadie Rebecchi, who has finally – seemingly – escaped Ramsay Street.
